After a unanimous vote Monday night , he Duluth City Council passed further restrictions on townhomes and duplexes that can be built in traditional residential neighborhoods.

This comes after numerous development requests were being denied because neighborhoods said they weren’t fitting in.

The new restrictions include increasing the minimum amount of street frontage required and restricting the density of the building.

The ordinance also calls for new developments to feature a minimum of three aesthetic features from a long list.

These features include things such as covered porches, posts or bay windows.
