Bent Paddle Brewing Company Releasing DüsselDirk Altbier
DSSO Music Director gets a beer named for him

Duluth, Minn. – Bent Paddle Brewing’s latest collaboration may have you singing their praises. The brewing company has teamed up with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra to create a Düsseldorf Altbier, which they named DüsselDirk, after the DSSO music director, Dirk Meyer. Düsseldorf Altbier just so happens to be Meyer’s favorite variety of brew. This partnership has been on his mind since he moved from Germany to Duluth in 2012.
Brewer Neil Caron who worked with Meyer to brew the special German-style beer says the beer is “expected to be malt forward with toasted bread and caramel notes supported by a harmonious floral hop character from the German Hallertauer hops used.”
DüsselDirk Altbier will be released at DECC Symphony Hall and the Bent Paddle Taproom this Saturday (Feb. 3rd). 5% of the proceeds from the sales of this beer will go back to the DSSO.
