Duluth and Thunder Bay Form Relationship Through Tai Chi

Duluth and Thunder Bay are Sister Cities

DULUTH, Minn.- Around 30 Canadians from Thunder Bay are in Duluth to experience one of their sister cities.

UMD’s University of Seniors invited people from Thunder Bay to Duluth for a couple days of shopping, sight-seeing, and Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a slow exercise sometimes called a moving meditation, that is said to help reduce stress, and increase flexibility, mobility, and balance. Tuesday, members of the two sister cities practiced the Chinese Martial Art at Lake Place Park.

“It’s all for health, and for happiness and joy, and learning about each other and it’s just, it’s joyful,” said Anita Campbell, a member of the University for Seniors.

The visitors will also enjoy a ride on the Vista Fleet, a tour and dinner at Glensheen Mansion, and another Tai Chi demonstration at Leif Erickson Park, while staying in Duluth.
