Chum Expansion

DULUTH, Minn. — Chum has selected a contractor for its upcoming shelter expansion project.

Johnson Wilson Constructors, Inc. has been awarded the contract for the Chum shelter renovation and expansion project.

Construction will start this month after nearly two years of funding and planning.

The shelter currently accommodates more than 125 people every night. The new facility will provide double the number of beds and add around 13,000 square feet to the building.

Chum’s Overnight Shelter and Drop-In Center has moved to the Damiano centers third floor during construction.
