The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Mat, Inc. facility on Highway 2.

When firefighters arrived, they encountered an 18,000-gallon propane tank with 40-foot flames, according to the Northland Fire Wire.

A shed was destroyed, and fire was spreading to the main facility.

The fire was eventually put out.

But crews were dispatched back to the plant around 11:20 a.m. Saturday for another large fire.

The plant’s roof collapsed during that fire.

Then Sunday afternoon, a large plume of black smoke could be seen over the plant.

One firefighter suffered minor burns.

Nobody else was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
