Local Football Teams Impacted By MSHSL’s Section Realignment

Four local teams were impacted by the MSHSL's decision.

DULUTH, Minn.- On Friday, the MSHSL announced section realignments for the next two seasons.

Quite the shakeup for four area prep football teams.

Cherry and Mountain Iron-Buhl are no longer 9-man team’s and will play the standard 11-man game next fall.

Meanwhile, Ely goes from Class A to Class AA.

Lastly, South Ridge will go from 11-man to 9-man.
