Duluth Student Hit by Vehicle, Minor Injuries Occurred

DULUTH, Minn. — A Duluth student was hit by a vehicle Thursday morning, causing minor injuries.

The Duluth Police Department says that at 9 a.m. an East High School Resource Officer responded to the report of a 14-year-old girl struck by a vehicle.

The student was crossing 40th Avenue East at Luverne Street when she was hit by a vehicle turning upbound 40th Avenue East.

Police say the 69-year-old woman driving the vehicle was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The student was sent home for the day.

DPD is reminding the public to be aware of your surroundings when driving in school zones.
