Thursday Morning Northland Forecast: 8/8/24

A Couple Cool & Breezy Days

We went a couple weeks with above average temps and sweaty dewpoints. Now, we’re going thru a few days of well below normal high temps. The average high for today is 77 degrees. We won’t see that til next week. It’s hard to find that “Goldilocks weather,” where everything is just right!

We are about to come under the influence of a large area of high pressure moving in from the west, that will bring us several days of sunny, mild weather. But we are still being kept under some cloud cover from a low pressure system over the Great Lakes, that is spinning counter clockwise, and throwing some moisture back our way. As a result, in between the low and the high, we have a strong pressure gradient that will produce gusty west winds for the next three days. Look for winds from the west and northwest up to 25mph from today thru Saturday. They will be pesky and annoying at times. And with highs only in the mid 60s for a couple days, it will feel a bit fall-like.

The weekend looks very nice, however, with high temps in the low to mid 70s, and mainly sunny skies. Next week, it’s back to more normal August weather, with sunshine, and highs in the 70s. Have a terrific Thursday!
