Healing Paws Holds Adoption Event for Rescued Pups

The dog rescue holds monthly adoption event and today's resulted in at least one dog finding a new family

DULUTH, Minn. — Some furry friends found their forever homes today thanks to Healing Paws Rescue!

The dog rescue puts on monthly events to help find families for the dogs in their care. Healing Paws said they just got a transport of thirty four puppies from Texas, where hundred of dogs are euthanized each day. At PetSmart in Duluth, customers and interested dog lovers gathered around to pet the available dogs sporting matching bandanas.

“It gives me the greatest sense of joy because these dogs have been through so much,” said Event Coordinator Delena Parsons. “And without the support that we get at events like this, we wouldn’t be able to find them the homes that they deserve. It’s why I do what I do, because they deserve the best.”

One lucky pup at the event, Murray, was going home with his new family today. Healing Paws said they currently have around fifty dogs and rely heavily fostering. Every time a dog is adopted, a new one gets their chance at finding a home.
