North Shore SUP Holds Kids Paddle Club

SUPERIOR, Wis. – North Shore Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) held its kid SUP club on Tuesday afternoon, giving kids the chance to explore Lake Superior.

The two hour event takes kids on a guided trip around Barkers Island on stand up paddleboards. North Shore SUP hopes the club introduces kids to the sport and teaches them different skills while getting them active and seeing the beauty of Lake Superior.

“They’re jumping in, they’re swimming. They all are learning so many basic self-rescue, water safety techniques. It’s great to have the kids on the water with supervision,” co-owner of North Shore SUP Heather Holmes said.

North Shore SUP offers the kids SUP club once a week, along with other classes and events, and adjusts their schedule on a weekly basis. To see this week’s schedule, visit their website.
