At Monday night’s City Council meeting, Proctor’s newest police officer was sworn in to service.
Officer Benjamin Kneeland wanted to be a cop since he was in 8th grade.
After 12 years away from Minnesota, he’s excited to come back to the Northland to serve and protect his hometown.
“Coming from the west coast in California and major metropolitan areas you don’t really get the small town feel like you can up here in Minnesota, so it’s where my roots are, I’m happy to be back,” said Officer Kneeland.
Kneeland previously served in the Marine Corps and for the California Highway Patrol.
