One of Duluth’s busiest sections of the skywalk is being torn apart.
It’s the link across I–35 to the DECC.
The 4–month closure will result in a more natural and structurally sound skywalk, connecting the DECC to the new DTA Transportation Center in the works on Michigan Street.
“We’re moving the glass to the outside, and one of the things that we’ll do will be to extend the life of the steel supports and so forth, they’re a little corroded now,” said DTA General Manager Dennis Jensen.
In the meantime, the DTA is running a shuttle service from the DECC parking lot to downtown bus stops.
