Coffee Conversation: Veterans Day Ceremony to Honor 250 Years of U.S. Military Service

DULUTH, Minn. — Jay Hagen from the St. Louis County Historical Society and Veterans Memorial Hall, along with Sharon Bergquist from Duluth Women of Today, joined FOX 21 Morning News to share details about this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony at the St. Louis County Depot.

The 2025 Veterans Day Ceremony marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. The program begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Depot’s Great Hall with patriotic performances from the Spirit Valley Drum & Bugle Corps, Superior Senior High School Choir, and bagpiper Kerry Welch.

Aalyiah Gebhardt will sing the National Anthem, and guest speaker Bob Stephens, a 10-year U.S. Navy veteran and member of American Legion Post #71, will address attendees. The Duluth Honor Guard will present colors and conclude with a Rifle Volley Salute and Taps.

A light lunch follows, along with a 12:30 p.m. showing of PBS North’s “United in Service,” introduced by director Keith Hopkins. The event is free and open to the public, with complimentary parking in the Depot ramp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
