Wrecktangle Pizza to Open at Wild State Cider

DULUTH, Minn. –Back in March Wrecktangle Pizza, an award winning pizza chain from the Twin Cities, announced it will be opening a Duluth location.

Now, after months of anticipation, the pizzeria will be opening inside Wild State Cider.

“We’ve been sort of open a little bit under the radar for the last week. You know, people have been showing out, and we’ve been loving it,” Jeff Rodgers, Chef and Owner of Wrecktangle Pizza said.

Serving up Detroit-style pizza, Wrecktangle adds its own twist to the classic featuring a deep-dish cheese edge and creative toppings.

“We are our top selling pizza by a lot, is the Shredder, pepperoni, pickled jalapeno, pecorino romano and Cry Baby Craig’s whipped honey, fantastic, it’s the heart and soul really, the first pizza that was on the menu,” Rodgers said.

Being inside of Wild State Cider offers the perfect opportunity for customers to grab a drink and a pizza, or another item on Wrecktangles menu like wings or salad.

“We like to be in with another business. It makes a lot of sense for what we what we do, you know, it’s great. We’re no stranger to like the food hall model, we really love being in another space,” Rodgers said.

Wrecktangle Pizza held a pop-up in Duluth a few months back and with such a good turnout, the official opening on Saturday looks to see many hungry pizza lovers.

“It’ll be nuts. Sunday will be nuts. We’re ready to, ready to make food. You know we’re hoping people show up,” Rodgers said.

For now you can order your choice of pizza in person at Wrecktangle, but there are plans for third-party delivery and online ordering in future.

The pizzeria will be open at the same time as the Wild State taproom. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
