Police: Girl Assaults Mother With Axe In Carlton County
CORONA TOWNSHIP, Minn. — Early Sunday morning, Carlton County Deputies responded to a 911 call from a 40-year-old woman reporting she had been “beat up” by her 15-year-old daughter.
The female victim was found conscious with several lacerations and injuries.
She said she did not know how she was assaulted and that she had been sleeping prior to the assault.
It is believed the victim was assaulted with an axe found in the victim’s bedroom, according to the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was treated for her injuries by first responders and transported to Aspirus St. Luke’s in Duluth.
The victim’s injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, according to officials.
The juvenile was cooperative and taken into custody at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center in Duluth.
She is being held on probable cause charges of 1st Degree Assault and Domestic Assault.
Reports have been sent to the Carlton County Attorney’s Office for formal charges.
