Hermantown Granted $2-Million for New Industrial Park
HERMANTOWN, Minn. – The city of Hermantown got big support from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).
The city of Hermantown was awarded $2 million to assist public utilities and streets, with enough funding to construct a new 35-acre industrial park. The new venture is being called a Hawkline Business Park and is estimated to attract over $80 million in private investment and create nearly 300 jobs.
The total cost of the project is under $5 million, with the remaining cost being covered by private investments which are being matched the City of Hermantown.
The site is located on the corner of Lavaque Bypass and U.S. Highway 53, diagonally across from the Aery apartment complex.
Construction is expected to begin later this year and continue through 2026.
Stewartville, North Mankato, and Chisago City were also recipients of a $4.37 million grant awarded to communities from the DEED.
