Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center Welcomes First Baby Of The Year

DULUTH, Minn. — Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomed to the world their first baby of 2025 just an hour after midnight.

Karsyn Jones and Jacob Walker of Duluth are the proud parents of baby boy they named Jett.

Jett was born at 1:07 a.m., on Wednesday morning, and weighed in at 6 pounds and 7 ounces and was measured at 20 inches long.

Across Essentia’s 5 hospitals in Minnesota, 2,780 babies were born in the past year.

At Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, almost 1,700 births occurred.
