One Mountain Bike Camp is Teaching Riding Basics to Kids
DULUTH, Minn. — Spirit Mountain hosts a variety of summer camps, getting kids and teens interested in hitting the bike trails.
One camp focuses on ages 18 months to 5 years old. The Balance Bike, Bubbles and Bananas camp is teaching future mountain bikers the basics of riding.
Balance bikes are small bicycles with no pedals, and are propelled by the riders pushing with their feet.
Participants in the camp learn the fundamentals of riding, and even hit some of the trails, giving them an earlier start in the adrenaline filled sport.
“I started on a strider bike myself too, so it’s so fun to get to continue to share the passion for the sport and just have these little kids just get excited about it,” said Lilli Regenold, Mountain Bike Coach.
The balance bike camp takes place every Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and runs until the end of August. Other camps are available for more experienced cyclists.
