Air Force ROTC Members Guard Flags to Honor Veterans

It's a Tradition Since 1992

Two soldiers at a time have stood guarding the POW MIA flag at UMD since midnight, in honor of veterans.

It’s the annual Round the Clock Watch Visual, where 45 UMD Air Force ROTC members take turns posting watch, 30 minutes to an hour at a time.  It’s a tradition has been going on since 1992.

“I personally feel privileged to have the opportunity to do something like this. It’s an awesome way to pay tribute to all the past veterans and those who have sacrificed so much,” said Wyatt Lafriniere, a Cadet with AFROTC.

The cadets will continue taking shifts until midnight tonight.
