New Grant will help WITC Students with Unplanned Financial Emergencies
Students at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College will benefit from a new student emergency fund.
The Dash grant will help students through unplanned financial emergencies so they can stay in school and complete their degree.
Any student who is Pell-grant eligible will also qualify for the Dash grant.
In order to qualify for the grant, students will have to meet with an academic counselor and prove that they have tapped all other community resources.
If the student qualifies for the grant, a check will be written to the third party (rent, car repair, heating bills) to which the student needs assistance. Grants can be up to $500 per program at WITC.
WITC has campuses in Ashland, New Richmond, Rice Lake and Superior.
