Super Tuesday brings unexpected results

Super Tuesday brought some unexpected results in Minnesota.

Marco Rubio won in Minnesota getting 17 delegates, while Ted Cruz got 13 and Donald Trump received 8.

Minnesota was the first state that Rubio won.

“I think it means we are different than other states. The fact that Sanders performed well here and that Rubio won his first state in Minnesota tells us what kind of messages Minnesotans are looking for,” said Geoffrey Sheagley, Assistant Professor of Political Science.

Ben Carson announced Wednesday that he will not attend the next debate.

“He doesn’t see a path and I think he is probably right. He doesn’t have many delegates. I think that he has been a consistent force. He had some success but he is really not winning those delegates,” said Sheagley.

With Carson out, there will only be three candidates attending tomorrows Republican debate.
