Drought conditions across Minnesota and Wisconsin were certainly a cause for a concern earlier this year.

This last round of rainfall included, those conditions have drastically improved over the last few months.

The U.S. Drought Monitor now shows that in Wisconsin and Minnesota, less than ten percent of either state have any deficiencies in moisture.

Cindy Hale from Clover Valley Farms near Duluth says the rain has come at a perfect rate, and the season has been better than it has in years.

“Our rain gauge says we got about an inch and a half [from this past storm], which isn’t too much but it’s nice,” Hale said. “It soaks in. It doesn’t run off so we don’t get the flash flooding. It’s been really nice. And in between the rain we’ve been getting sun, which is awesome.”

Hale added that her farm broke its own record on the rhubarb harvest.

This year their yield was 600 pounds.

She says the rest of the fruits at their farm are coming in just fine.
