When winter weather hits it’s tempting to stay inside.
But, that’s not a luxury snow plow drivers have.
Plow after plow could be seen on the streets of Duluth Tuesday morning as plow drivers hit the streets at 4 a.m. to keep the roads clear.
Although workers at the Duluth Fleet Service have plenty to do, clearing the snow is a higher priority and it’s something they enjoy doing.
“We are all about taking care of the safety of our customers and making sure commerce can happen and people can live their normal lives so we can do the best that we can to get out there in a timely fashion,” said Maintenance Operations Manager, Kelly Fleissner.
Fleissner also encourages drivers to give snowplows and other cars plenty of space.
“Even though we may have gone by in the last few minutes and cleared off the street, more snow has fallen and it’s sloppy. It’s going to be very slipper so just take your time and be patient,” said Fleissner.
Nearly 40 plows were out Tuesday morning.
